Emotional Connection Doesn’t Equal Physical Connection
Friday, March 27th, 2009There is a growing trend in our society that has people believing that an emotional connection should lead to physical intimacy. I believe American’s are so starved of love and affection that we have collapsed two distinct terms. There is always going to be someone you vibe with, you click with, someone that you see eye to eye with on issues. There are also those people that for whatever reason you trust them and can just talk to and share your heart. But this does not mean you have to get physically intimate to take the relationship to the next level. I think that’s one of the problems as well. We are always trying to go somewhere or move to the next level or phase, why can’t we be satisfied with where we are and how things are going.
Our desire to elevate relationship can destroy us and the other person. What if you were truly meant to be just friends? But now that you tried to go further you ruined the friendship. I believe God created a special person for us all, and if we befriend everyone that came before us, for the soul purpose of being friendly and loving, and not trying to get anything, but genuinely showing others the love of God we would be happy. We would definitely be less broken. Because we give our hearts to people that can’t hold our hearts, give God your heart and He will guide you to that special someone, and He will use all the people in your life to help you and support you in this journey of life.
GOAT’s scripture is Romains 12:2, which says we must be renewed by the transformation of our mind. What does that mean? It means we have to think differently to make our life better. We can’t keep doing the same thing and expecting different results. This message is different from popular opinion. Just look at all the dating game shows. One man or woman date a bunch of other people are a sexually involved in some form or fashion and the lucky winner gets the leftovers, then they wonder why it does not last. Love is not a feeling, but I’ll leave that for another blog.
I hope this made you think, if so holla at me and tell me your thoughts.
Be Blessed,
Visionary
